THE LEGEND OF LUCY KEYES
Written and directed by John Stimpson

SUMMARY

After a terrible accident shatters their lives, Jeanne and Guy Cooley (Julie Delpy and Justin Theroux) move to the country with their two daughters, Molly and Lucy (Cassidy Hinkle), to seek a fresh start.  Guy gets a job engineering a new windmill farm on the slopes of Wachusett Mountain in central Massachusetts, while Jeanne begins hearing voices in the wind.

They soon learn that their house has a sordid history.  It was the home of Robert and Martha Keyes and their daughter Lucy who mysteriously disappeared 250 years ago.  Town lore tells of Martha’s spirit continuing to search for her daughter even to this day.
Haunted by dreams and cries in the woods at night Jeanne digs into the legend of the lost child and ultimately unearths a horrible, centuries-old secret.

Meanwhile, Guy meets more resistance for his windmill project than he anticipated particularly from his pig farmer neighbor Jonas Dodd (Mark Boone, Jr.) who feeds rancid clambellies to his pigs.  The odor from the pigfeed makes the Cooley’s lives miserable and Guy needs to seek the help of Samantha Porter (Brooke Adams) who is the selectwoman in town and the primary advocate for the windmill project to get Dodd to clean up the stench.

The closer they get to breaking ground for the windmills the more haunted Jeanne is by Martha’s spirit.  Ultimately history repeats itself and Jeanne and Guy must solve the mystery of the Lucy Keyes disappearance in order to save their own daughter from a similar fate.
